Chief Pilot / Part 137 Chief Supervisor

The Chief Pilot/Supervisor directly supervises company Check Airmen, Pilots, and Flight Engineers.


  • Full operational control of all company aircraft.

  • Formulate & execute operational plans and policies.

  • Coordinates with Director of Maintenance on scheduling aircraft for all required inspections.

  • Directs all foreign operations.  

  • Distributes and maintains all company operation manuals, notifies appropriate personnel of procedure changes, hazardous conditions of flight and ground operations.

  • Ensures prompt reporting, filing and follow-up action of accidents to appropriate government agencies.

  • Provides for adequate flight kits for each aircraft.

  • Deals directly with the FAA on all matters.

  • Ultimately responsible for qualifications of airmen, compliance with FAR’s.

  • Has signature authority in all matters dealing with the FAA.

  • Recruitment and employment of flight crew members.

  • Monitors training, qualification and testing flight crew members.

  • Maintain training records & training schedule.

  • Schedules aircraft and flight crews

  • Suspends or restricts operations due to weather, mechanical irregularities or any other factor that involves safety.

  • 10-year Background Check

  • FAA Class II Medical


  • DC 10 Type Rating

  • Flight Training Background

  • Simulator Operations

  • Prior wild land fire aviation experience
