General Summary
10 Tanker Air Carrier is a leading aerial firefighting company, deploying modified DC-10 aircraft to deliver fire retardant and combat wildfires with precision and impact. Operating under CFR Parts 91, 137, and 145, we maintain the highest standards in aircraft maintenance and operations.
The Supply Chain Specialist is integral to our mission, ensuring seamless aircraft maintenance and modification by expertly managing the receipt, issuance, inventory, and storage of parts, supplies, and materials. This role requires travel to support our dynamic operational needs across various locations.
Primary Responsibilities
The Supply Chain Specialist will:
• Maintain an accurate inventory database to optimize stock levels, ensuring minimum and maximum quantities are met, and proactively purge obsolete or slow-moving parts per established guidelines.
• Organize stockroom layouts to prioritize safety, maximize space, and ensure easy access and clear identification of items.
• Track life-limited (shelf-life) items, ensuring proper labeling and timely removal upon expiration.
• Implement and manage a QR coding system for parts and supplies, updating the inventory management system to ensure precise tracking.
• Perform regular bin audits to confirm part numbers, quantities, and cleanliness, adhering to first-in, first-out (FIFO) rotation by lot number.
• Verify that incoming products align with Purchase Order specifications and documentation.
• Conduct preliminary inspections and coordinate with the Inspection, Control, and Receiving Inspector (ICRI), providing all necessary documentation.
• Process receipts in Veryon, logging serial numbers and shelf-life data, applying barcode and shelf-life labels, and placing parts in designated locations.
• Promptly notify recipients of critical parts arrivals as directed by Purchase Orders.
• Keep chemical lockers organized, compliant, and up to date.
• Ensure production areas receive timely, high-quality parts and supplies to support operational efficiency.
• Uphold rigorous safety and cleanliness standards in all operations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support 10 Tanker’s mission.
Requirements: Experience & Education
• Ability to pass a 7-year background and criminal history check.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel on short notice to support operational demands.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong computer literacy.
• Commitment to safety-first practices.
• Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
• Availability for weekends, overtime, and extended hours as needed.
• Adaptability to take on additional tasks as directed by leadership.
Working Conditions
• The role involves frequent travel and work in diverse environments, including warehouses, airplane hangars, parking lots, and airport runways.
• Work is split approximately 50% on the floor and 50% desk-based.
• Exposure to loud noises, fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibrations is common.
• Occasional exposure to extreme temperatures (above 100°F or below 32°F).
• Extended shifts (12+ hours) may be required during peak flight operations.
Physical Requirements
This role operates in warehouse and hangar settings, requiring standard safety gear. The employee must:
• Lift up to 100 lbs. occasionally, 50 lbs. frequently, and 20 lbs. regularly.
• Work in loud environments and adapt to temperature extremes.
• Meet physical demands to perform essential functions, with reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.
Additional Requirements
• Must pass a pre-employment background check.
• Must clear security screenings with TSA, the Department of Homeland Security, FBI’s Next Generation Identification, and fingerprinting via the US-VISIT Automated Biometrics Identification System.
