General Summary

10 Tanker Air Carrier is an aerial firefighting company that operates DC10 aircraft modified to disperse fire retardant to control forest fires. The company operates and maintains its aircraft under FAR parts 91, 137, and 145. The A&P/Avionics Mechanic Is responsible for the airworthiness, safety, and maintenance of the company’s fleet. Must be capable of working with and from various equipment, stands, ladders, boom lifts, scissor lifts, tugs, etc. Be able to work outdoors for long periods of time all year. International work in the southern hemisphere during the northern winter is always a possibility.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Daily aircraft maintenance

  • Avionic troubleshooting

  • Service checks

  • Line checks

  • Perform preventive maintenance

  • All Systems Troubleshooting and repair

  • Lav servicing

  • Fueling

  • Loading retardant

  • Accomplish daily paperwork properly

  • Logbook entries

  • Parts requisitions

  • Parts tags

  • Daily text messages for flights, end of day, and mx reporting

  • Work closely with all maintenance team members and all company employees

  • Maintain open communications with all flight crew members

  • Understand, employ, and work with all pertinent aircraft data

  • Can think and work “outside the box” while maintaining safety and airworthiness

  • Drive and operate a truck towing a 27ft trailer

  • Fly onboard the airplane during repositioning flights

  • Offer guidance and direction to other maintenance members

  • Must be able to Lead and or Follow as work and circumstances dictate

  • Be financially responsible in all company and personal matters

  • Independently identify tasks that need to be accomplished and accomplish them

  • Ensure all work areas are maintained orderly and clean

  • Ensure all tooling and equipment are properly maintained, clean and stored after each use

Airport & Warehouse Assistant

General Summary

10 Tanker Air Carrier is an aerial firefighting company that operates DC10 aircraft modified to disperse fire retardant to control forest fires. The company operates and maintains its aircraft under FAR parts 91, 137, and 145. 

The Airport Warehouse Assistant Is responsible for providing parts from the warehouse to support the company’s fleet. The company fleet currently consists of 4 DC10-30 aircraft modified to disperse fire retardant. 

Must be capable of working with computers and handling aircraft parts.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Must be able to lead and or follow as work and circumstances dictate 

  • Be financially responsible in all company and personal matters 

  • Receive parts from shipping companys (UPS, FEDEX, OTHER couriers) 

  • Perform receiving inspection 

  • Fill out company part control tag (PCT)/ Traceability tags 

  • Receive parts into inventory system (ATP Flightdocs) 

  • Box up and store in the warehouse 

  • Locate parts in the warehouse 

  • Ship parts to the aircraft and vendors 

  • Keep calibrated items up to date 

  • Keep accurate count on stock items 

  • Ensure all work areas are maintained orderly and clean 

  • Ensure all tooling and equipment are properly maintained, clean and stored after each use

Requirement, Experience & Education:

  • Pass a 10-year background/criminal/DMV check and drug and alcohol testing 

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Required) 

  • Must possess a current and valid driver’s license 

  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English 

  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills 

  • Must be willing and capable to travel 

  • Computer literate, including Microsoft office suite 

  • Safety oriented 

  • Must be able to work with Microsoft office and Adobe 

  • Time management skills are a MUST 

  • Must be willing to work weekends 

  • Forklift experience preferred but not required

  • Must be dependable, punctual, self-motivated and display initiative 

  • Strong ability to follow established procedures, practices, and follow instructions 

  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills 

  • Must have excellent attention to detail

  • Must be willing to learn how to operate different types of lifts and equipment. 

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Stand and walk for extended periods of time 

  • Hearing, vision, and hand-eye coordination 

  • Repetitive hand motions 

  • Frequent lift, push, pull, and/or move a minimum of 60 pounds 

  • The noise level can be high
