Meet Lead Mechanic Neil Bigthumb

1 min read

Meet Neil Bigthumb, the lead mechanic for Tanker 912. Neil’s career began in the Navy as an Aviation Structural Mechanic. He served for nearly 13 years starting in 2000. 10 Tanker has been lucky enough to have Neil for the past 6 years. As someone who takes so much pride in their work, our company is better for having him. Neil’s favorite part of working for 10 Tanker is “the impact in support we make within firefighting.” His job feels purposeful. He loves the challenge it comes with of ensuring the aircraft is always safe for flight. The wisdom Neil would pass along to anyone interested in his line of work would be “to not be too prideful to ask questions” and always communicate effectively. When Neil is not working, he enjoys spending time at home with his wife and three children in Texas. Thank you, Neil, for all of the hard work and passion you bring to the company.

Neil Bigthumb’s dedication to his work as a lead mechanic is truly inspiring. It’s fascinating to see how his background in the Navy shapes his approach to ensuring aircraft safety. I appreciate his advice about asking questions and communicating well; those are essential in any job, especially in high-stakes environments like firefighting. When I’m not diving into aviation topics, I often find myself exploring game mechanics, which can also require a keen understanding and communication skills. For those interested in gaming strategies or builds, I found a cool resource here: VV Ultimatum Wiki.

It’s always interesting to learn about the people behind specialized work and the experience they bring to their roles. Skill, precision, and attention to detail can make a real difference in any profession. Those qualities also stand out in accessories, where a Moissanite AP Watch can create a bold modern look and a Santos Moissanite Diamond Watch can add a distinctive luxury-inspired touch.

That bit about not being too prideful to ask questions is something I see all the time in co-op games when players try to solo a tough fight instead of calling for help — Iron Nest Guide status tracker Neil's Navy background and six years on Tanker 912 really drives home how steady experience and clear communication keep things running.
