A Brief Reflection

“We delight in the beauty of the butterfly but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty” - Maya Angelou

2017 was the first year 10 Tanker had 4 planes available for contract. However, the company warehouses were split between two overfilled 10,000, and 5,000 square foot units. They were so stacked with parts that it made it nearly impossible to get from one end of the warehouse to the other. You could say it was a mess, complete with a makeshift shower and washing machine.

Much like today the company was going through a metamorphosis and was outgrowing its previous form. Luckily 10 Tanker decided to bring on someone with the right experience and skill to help the team out of this “mess”.

Current Director of Operations Robert Burrus had worked for nearly a decade as senior program manager for a defense contractor, running up to 7 different programs for the U.S Airforce and U.S Army. Previous to that he had flown aircraft such as the AH-1 Cobra, UH-60 Blackhawk, and Canadair Regional Jets.

Funny enough he had also flown DC-10's and MD-11’s for about 5 years having learned in the same school as our current Captain Dan Montelli.

Robert worked with the city of Albuquerque, NM to find a 30 thousand square foot space that formerly belonged to Eclipse Aerospace.

It took half a year to finalize the move in, that included renovating the office space and clearing out the warehouses.

By November of 2018 10 Tanker was fully moved in.
