A Busy Week For 10 Tanker

With several fires breaking out across different regions in the United States, our crew's have dedicated themselves to respond when the call to action has come. To get an idea of what I mean by that here is a break down of a few fires 10 Tanker has been involved in over the last 7 days:

Tanker 914 & tanker 912 operating out of Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport, fighting the “Blue River 2 Fire” near San Carlos, AZ. From July 6th to July 18th our tankers completed over 14 missions on the “Blue River 2” Fire estimating a total of 131,040 gallons of retardant dropped on the fire. The Blue River 2 Fire is currently at 28,051 acres burned at 67% containment (as of 07/21/20).

An estimated 200 homes were evacuated due to the “Turkey Farm Fire” in Washington County, three miles west of Washington City, Utah. From July 14th to July 15th Tanker 914 and 911 were working the fire, completing 4 drops before heading back to the Phoenix-Mesa Base to fight the “Big Summit Fire”. The Turkey Farm fire currently stands at 11,993 acres burned 85% containment.

Three of the 10 Tankers DC10’s worked the “Big Summit Fire” near Mount Wilson, NV, on the NV/UT border from July 13th to July 17th. With a total of 16 drops completed, the fire currently stands at 8,461 acres burned 91% containment.

Recently in North California the “Hog Fire” has received a lot of media attention, rightfully so since its rapid growth of 9,000 acres in only a couple of hours.

Furthermore, not far away a secondary fire had ignited called the "Gold Fire".

Thus far Tankers 914 & 911 have been working both fires with a total of 9

drops completed on Hog, and 7 on Gold

We are grateful to those involved in taking down there's fires, and we are even more grateful to have such a determined and hard working team making it possible to do so.
